About Me

I’m a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 15 years of experience. I’ve had the privilege of working with children ages 1 to 12 across a variety of settings, including home care, preschools, and elementary schools.

As therapists, we’re taught that in order to truly support a child’s development, we must also support the adults in their lives, caregivers, teachers, and everyone in between. Becoming a mom myself deepened my understanding of this philosophy, and it’s something I take great pride in weaving into my own practice every day.

Mission

History

Throughout my career, caregivers and educators have come to me with a wide range of concerns about children’s functional performance. I would offer tools, strategies, and resources, but I began to notice that something essential was missing: an understanding of why these strategies work.

Without that foundational knowledge, it’s difficult for individuals to adapt or create strategies that truly fit their unique situation. Every child is different. Every environment, culture, and challenge is different. Cookie-cutter solutions often leave parents and educators feeling frustrated and still searching for more.

Purpose

Occupy and Thrive was created to not only provide effective strategies, but by offering the background knowledge behind them. With that understanding, you can adapt each tool to meet your specific needs and help the children in your care truly thrive.
